Thanks to today’s advances in orthodontic technology, Hage Orthodontics can provide our patients with more options than ever before. While traditional metal braces are still widely used, clear braces are very popular with teens and adults who are self conscious about wearing braces, along with Invisalign removable aligners, the “braceless” alternative to straight teeth. Dr. Michael Hage will help you determine which treatment option is right for you.
Metal Braces
Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces used today. They are smaller, comfortable and constructed of medical grade alloys. You always have the option of adding colored elastic ties for a more unique and colorful smile.
Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces are made of clear materials and are less visible on your teeth than metal braces. “Clear” braces are used mainly on patients who have esthetic concerns. We use tooth-colored wires to make your appearance during treatment the best it can be. The only drawback to ceramic brackets is that they are more fragile and less forgiving of poor food choices.
Invisalign-Type Aligners
Invisalign is a series of aligners designed to straighten teeth. Because they’re removable, you can eat almost anything without worry. Oral hygiene is much easier as well. When choosing Invisalign-type aligners keep in mind they do not have the ability to move teeth with the precision and detail that traditional orthodontic brackets provide.
